7. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, local storage and similar technologies:
- Strictly necessary (always on): to keep your cart, remember your country and currency, process checkout, secure the Site and prevent fraud.
- Analytics and marketing (only with your consent where the law requires it): Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Meta pixel, TikTok pixel and Mailchimp, to understand how the Site is used, to measure and personalise advertising, and to show Orbit ads on other websites.
Consent. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another region where consent is required, the Site shows a cookie banner. You can accept, decline or manage your choices. Analytics and marketing technologies are intended to run only after you accept them. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your cookies for findorbit.com, which shows the banner again, and you can also block cookies in your browser settings. Declining does not stop strictly necessary cookies. Some browsers and extensions block cookies and pixels by default.
Global Privacy Control. We treat a browser's Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal or other legally recognised opt-out preference signal as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information for that browser, where required by law.
8. Your choices for marketing
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in each email or by writing to help@findorbit.com. We will still send you service messages about your orders. We send marketing emails only where you have agreed or where the law otherwise allows.
9. United States: state privacy rights, "sale" and "sharing"
This section applies to residents of California and of other US states with comprehensive privacy laws (for example Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and Montana), to the extent those laws apply to us. The responsible business is Purse-a-Porter LLC.
Categories of personal information we collected in the last 12 months and why:
| Category (California terms) | Examples | Disclosed to |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, IP address, cookie and device identifiers | Service providers; for advertising partners: cookie identifiers and hashed or matched identifiers |
| Customer records | Name, address, phone number, order details | Service providers |
| Commercial information | Products viewed, added to cart and purchased, order history | Service providers; advertising and analytics partners |
| Internet or other network activity | Pages visited, interactions with the Site and ads, referring site | Analytics and advertising partners |
| Geolocation data (approximate only) | Country or city from IP address | Service providers; analytics and advertising partners |
| Inferences | Interests or preferences inferred from browsing and purchases | Advertising and analytics partners |
| Sensitive personal information | None collected | Not applicable |
Sale and sharing. Under US state laws, our use of advertising and analytics pixels (Google Ads, Meta, TikTok) and the sync of purchase data with our email marketing provider (Mailchimp) may count as a "sale" of personal information, or "sharing" of it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16 years of age. You can opt out at any time by (1) declining non-essential cookies in the cookie banner, where shown, (2) using a browser with Global Privacy Control turned on, or (3) emailing help@findorbit.com with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information". Opting out does not prevent essential order processing.
Your rights. Depending on your state, you may have the right to: know and access the personal information we hold about you and the categories of sources and recipients; get a copy in a portable format; correct inaccurate information; delete your information; opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising and profiling; limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not use it); and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. California residents may also ask which categories of personal information we disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes in the previous year (California Shine the Light law).
How to exercise your rights. Email help@findorbit.com (or call +1 (225) 650-7066) with your request, your name and the email address used for your order. We will verify your identity by matching the details you give us with our records, and we will respond within 45 days (we may extend this once by a further 45 days where permitted by law and we will tell you why). You may use an authorised agent, and we may ask for proof of the agent's authority. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our response with the word "Appeal", and we will reply within 60 days. If you are unhappy with the outcome, you may contact your state attorney general.
10. European Union (including France): your rights, transfers and retention
Your rights under the GDPR. You have the right to: access your personal data; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data erased; restrict processing; data portability; object to processing based on legitimate interests and to direct marketing at any time; and withdraw consent at any time. To use these rights, email help@findorbit.com. We will respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity.
Complaints. You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live, work or where an infringement occurred. In France this is the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), 3 Place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France, www.cnil.fr. For Berlin, Germany, it is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, www.datenschutz-berlin.de. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
International transfers. Our controller for EU orders is based in Australia, our Site operator is based in the United States, and our service providers process data in the United States, Australia and other countries. Australia is not covered by a European Commission adequacy decision. When your personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we use a valid transfer mechanism: the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified, or another safeguard permitted by the GDPR. You can ask for a copy of the relevant safeguards by emailing help@findorbit.com.
Providing information. You must give us the information needed to deliver your order. If you do not, we cannot complete it. Other information (for example, marketing sign-ups) is optional.
11. Australia: Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles
For Australian orders, Global Shopping Network Pty Ltd handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). We collect personal information for the purposes in section 4, directly from you or through our service providers.
Overseas disclosure. We are likely to disclose personal information to recipients outside Australia, in particular the United States, where Purse-a-Porter and most of our service providers operate, and also France, Ireland, Canada and other countries where our providers store or process data (see section 6). We take reasonable steps to make sure overseas recipients handle your information in a way consistent with the APPs, but by purchasing from us you acknowledge that APP 8.1 may not apply to some recipients.
Marketing. We send commercial electronic messages only with your consent or as otherwise permitted by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), and every message has an unsubscribe option.
Access, correction and complaints. You can ask to access or correct your personal information by emailing help@findorbit.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your privacy concern, please contact us first. If it remains unresolved, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), www.oaic.gov.au, telephone 1300 363 992. We will notify affected individuals and the OAIC of eligible data breaches as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
12. How long we keep personal information
| Information | Retention |

| Customer account and delivery details | While your account is active, then as needed for the records above |

| Reviews | Until you ask us to remove them or the product is discontinued |
| Cookie and pixel data | For the lifetime of each cookie (generally from the session up to 13 months) and then according to the provider's own policy |
When information is no longer needed we delete or anonymise it.
13. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls, and we rely on the security measures of our payment and platform providers. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your rights, we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
14. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email help@findorbit.com and we will delete it.
15. Links to other websites
The Site may link to third-party websites (for example Apple, Google, Amazon and social media). We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their privacy notices.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on the Site and, where required, tell you directly.
